Why would I choose RB for my child?
If you are looking for a school that balances a challenging academic curriculum with opportunities for pursuing athletics, arts and community service, look no further.
We have a highly qualified teaching staff (most of whom hold a Bachelor’s Degree or above), and a warm welcoming student community. We invite you to visit our campus so that we can further introduce you to the many opportunities RB has to offer.
When should I submit my application?
The RB academic year begins in September and applications for any given school year can be submitted starting in January of the same year.
Given that space is often limited, families are encouraged to submit an application prior to 1 March, although applications will be accepted throughout the school year.
Is it necessary for my child to have an interview before acceptance is offered?
No. In most instances, an interview is not required before a student is accepted. However, an interview or student assessment may be required to determine if RB has an appropriate programme to meet a student's needs.
Does RB accept students with special learning needs?
Our school policy states that RB “offers a comprehensive programme for students with special learning needs, which is designed to serve a limited number of students from mild disabilities to extended care requirements”.
To determine if a child meets this requirement, or whether there is space in the learning support program, parents should submit RB applications early as possible. In addition to the application, a recent psycho-educational assessment report and other pertinent records regarding past educational plans and services must be submitted to the admissions office.
Must my child be fluent in English to attend RB?
No. As an international school, RB has students representing more than 24 different nationalities. To support this international population, we offer additional English language support at all grade levels. We additionally offer beginning classes in Arabic from Reception to Year 2
Is parent involvement welcomed at the school?
Yes. Our Parent Teacher Group (PTG), Kids Club and Extra Curricular Activities and groups involve many parents in school activities and functions. In addition, many of our teachers – particularly in Kindergarten– utilise parent volunteers in the classroom. Parents also volunteer in our libraries and field trips.
What languages other than English are offered at RB?
RB offers Arabic as an additional language for both non-native and native/fluent speakers. Beginning in the Pre-Primary year groups, the Arabic programme centres mainly on listening, comprehension, and speaking skills.
In Year 1 and Year 2 students are more formally introduced to reading and writing skills in Arabic.
In Year 1 and Year 2, French and Spanish are also offered as foreign languages if parents wish to make this option. In addition, RB has a First Language Programme for students wishing to maintain their fluency in French and Spanish.
Is there a school uniform?
Yes. there is a dress code that sets forth appropriate campus attire which is available to purchase from local stores. Details can be obtained from the admissions office
What is the academic calendar?
The academic calendar shows only the school holidays and major dates you need to plan your holidays.

Do Kuwaiti nationals wishing to join RB for the SEN programme need Authorisation from PADA to join RB?
Yes, Kuwaiti nationals can apply for government grants to receive special needs Learning, Athletics and Therapeutic programmes. Students wishing to join RB with SEN attributes are encouraged to contact the Kuwait Public Authority for Disabilities & Special Needs Office (PADA) to obtain the necessary documents.
Yes. Parents of students holding only a Kuwait passport must complete a form that notifies the PADA authority that their child will be attending RB.
By nature of our school’s status and recognition as an Inclusive learning school offering the SEN Diploma Programme, this is a routine requirement needed to inform the PADA authorities.

Are after school activities offered?
Yes. Both campuses offer after school activities covering a wide range of activities from sports and academic enrichment, to the performing and visual arts. There is an added fee for each class and parents, or a designated adult must pick up students after the activity.
