STEAM

UNDERSTANDING THE EYFS CURRICULUM

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning,  development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. The EYFS framework supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all  professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early  education and childcare experiences to all children. RBK also integrates the STEM  (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) approach into all lessons. However,  we add Arts, making the acronym STEAM.

EYFS allows for the integration of STEAM as it is a holistic curriculum ensuring  development in all spheres of a child’s life.
